Purging...it feels good!

Got my car back into the garage today!!!

Here in sunny ol' Florida we don't have basements.  Because of this, our garages end up as our "storage areas" unfortunately.  When we moved to FL, we not only had our 3 car garage filled w/ stuff, we also had two, yes TWO, storage units.  A few years back, we got rid of the storage units, leaving only our garage filled with junk.  Our third bay is filled w/ all my husbands tools.  He has quite a bit as my father loved tools and passed several things on to him.  That left our 2 car area, and I say that lightly because it would TIGHTLY fit two cars, its more like a car and a half. Today, we reclaimed that area as well!! Yea!!

 I drive a big Ford Expedition XL, so it is the only car we can fit in the "2 car" space.  The other car now sits in the drive.  The remainder is our kids scooters, bikes, outdoor toys and some cabinets w/ outdoor equipment and crafts that the kids need permission to do (ie- Easy Bake Oven, Candy Jewelry Oven, Playdough, etc.).  There are still a few crates I need to go thru, but only 4! Phew! I can handle that...man it feels great to get rid of things!! Salvation Army truck came and picked up a bunch!!

Summertime is great for big projects.  The more projects we get done, the more I want to do as well! The feeling is contagious!

The kids have already been out of school a week now.  The week has flown by!  I hope this is not an indication of how fast the summer itself will go!

We have been cleaning out closets & getting rid of things that don't fit anymore.  I am working on purging things that have been sitting around for almost a year that I kept thinking I was going to Ebay.  Never did.  Salvation Army is getting a nice car load tomorrow! Yea!!

I also reorganized my scrapbook room.

We lost our video camera.  Learned a VERY hard lesson today.  Never keep all of your memory cards in your case.  If you do, at least download them every few years!  We've lost all video of my son and youngest DD.  :(  Makes me so ill.  We still have our fingers crossed on calling a few places we might have left it on Monday.  Keep your fingers crossed for us too! We need all the luck we can get!  Will let ya'll know!

Year End

The school year is finally coming to an end and boy am I happy!  I am ready to tackle projects and have some fun too! 

Doing the shopping for the teacher gifts this week and weekend.  I would like to have those wrapped up by Tuesday, as the last of school for our kids is Thursday. 

We are also going to a Tampa Bay Rays game on Sunday.  Will be the kids' first professional game, I think! LOL Calli might have gone to one when she was little, I can't remember! Otherwise, just doing lawn work, swimming and organizing the garage (our constant ongoing project!).

Politically Speaking...

I am so tired of the debates & ads!! IMO, it doesn't matter what you are, or which "side you are on", they are both full of it! I find the debates and ads to be such propaganda.  They don't really dive into the heart of the matters, everything is quite surface.  They accuse each other of things w/o completely revealing the entire policy to explain why someone did vote a particular way.   I am a Republican, and will be voting for McCain, but that doesn't mean I don't agree w/ many of Obama's issues on conservation & health care.  For me, I just have to choose who I agree w/ more than the other.  Neither are best...now if I could blend them, that'd be great!!

Complete side note...GO RAYS tonite!! If they win, it's off to the World Series!! Yea!!

My mojo is lost!

Can't seem to find my mojo these days!! :)  Not in scrapping, crafting, organization or just the daily.  I have been so overwhelmed.  Just can't catch up with all the daily to have time to pursue my interests.  Going to use this week while DH is traveling to try to catch up in the PM on some things...that is if I can ever get my 3 year old to fall asleep! LOL

   

But...this is why it is worth it all! My little ones! This here is Jake getting ready for Rodeo Day at Preschool.  Got this getup from Gymboree.  They have the cutest cowboy/cowgirl outfits.  I got my youngest daughters Rodeo Day clothes there last year. 

Been looking at lots of other blogs lately.  Also signed up for a tutorial on blogging, so be on the look out for some changes coming to my blog in the next month.  I hope to give it some more POP!

Blogging from the beach..

Ok. Attempting to blog from the beach on my iPhone. LOL iPhone has this new app made by Typepad so we'll see if this works! If you're reading this, it did!!

So we are at Sanibel Island this week. I love this place! It is SO kid-friendly with tons to do. We all love looking for shells and building sand castles. The shops and restaurants are great as well.

Things have been great until yesterday when I attempted to apply my own sunscreen to my back. Big mistake. I am now fried. Therefore my early am blog post due to my inability to sleep because I can't sleep on one side or my back! I know y'all are feeling a great deal of pity for me now. ;) But seriously, it kills! Thank God for aloe and Tylenol. Any add'l suggestions are welcome btw!

Sanibel is wonderful otherwise. Wish we could stay another week. This one is going by so quickly. Tony has to get back to work - though he has been working a bit from here. Believe it or not, I do miss our cats and dogs too. Pathetic, huh?! So, when our week is up I suppose it will be time.

About time....

...that I'm on here again! I am getting into the swing of summer and finally getting organized around here! yee haw! - yeah, that's the Polk County coming out in me! ;P 

We are going on vacation soon to Sanibel Island.  Can't wait.  A vacation for us is overdue.  Bought way too much fun stuff for the trip- new sand toys, new chairs, new towels, new clothes, new movies! LOL FUN FUN! I just downloaded the typepad application on my iPhone, so I hope to upload some pics from it while we are actually ON vacation to here.  We'll see if I'm tech savvy enough to do it!

Eager for my BF Carrie to move back to the USA here at the end of this month.  She has been over in the UK for the last two years.  Once she is settled in her new diggs, I plan on visiting ASAP!  I know she'll miss the UK, but I'm selfishly sooooo glad to have her back here - even if she is going to be in Indiana!

Finally made a BIG dent in the blackhole of our garage again.  It just gets filled up sooo quickly w/ junk & constantly needs to be cleaned out & organized.  It feels so wonderful to be rid of the burden of clutter.  There is this website that I like: www.flylady.com  She says that clutter is like C.H.A.O.S. (can't have anyone over syndrome!) & it is so true!!  If you've never checked out the site, you should. Tons of great tips on there for everything!

Calli just got finished playing golf for the summer.  She is going to miss it.  She was really getting to be quite the golfer.  I am going to have to schedule time for her and Tony to go out each week to at least hit balls.  She was up to playing 9 holes a week w/ practice.  Not too bad for her first year & being 7.  She is also eager to start up tennis.  She played a little last week at a mini camp, but not a great deal of instruction I don't believe. 

Lorelei's 5th birthday is tomorrow.  I am very excited.  So is she of course! She is really into HSM, so we got her some of that stuff.  We also got her the new "Fancy Nancy" doll, her dog, and the clothes w/ matching dress-up clothes.  She just loves those books.  We got her a few games to go w/ the Nintendo DS that her grandma & grandpa are giving her for her bday as well.  She will be happy to have her own as she is always borrowing her sister's, Tony's or mine! LOL - yes, Tony & I love our DS's too! :)  VERY addictive!

Jake is finally potty trained!!! Yippee!! Now if we can just get him to put his underware back ON afterwards, we'd be good to go for preschool this fall! :)  Soon, soon I think.  Otherwise his teacher will have a streaker on her hands! He still isn't potty trained thru the night, but I'm not worried about that at all.

Going to try to do some scrapbooking soon! Just got my new Shakerbox Monthly kit, so I think I'll be taking that along w/ me on my trip & maybe my portable printer? LOL Yes, pathetic scrapper I am!

What I would do if I were suddenly made a billionaire: buy 30+ acres of land, build a beautiful new home w/ a pole barn (and horses!), donate some to my kids school so they could have whiteboards in every room, new kitchen, etc..., get a new car, have a private jet (would be ok since I know terrorists wouldn't be on it!)  for Carrie and I to go wherever we wanted & see each other whenever we wanted- oh! and personal nannies/housekeepers for both of us! & invest, invest, invest!!

When I view other people's blogs that I really love, they are more than not done on typepad.  I'm not sure why that is, but thought I would jump on the bandwagon that I admire.  So, here is my first post on my new blog.  I hope that it helps keep me in touch with my friends and make some new ones.
